Letter from the Commodore:

First and foremost, we were founded in 1996 to foster a fun boating atmosphere at the lake while promoting friendships among all different kinds of boaters. You may have noticed we do not call this a yacht club. This was designed to promote boating no matter what size vessel you own. It is truly unique on our lake that sail and power have successfully come together in a single group to support each other's activities.

On another level, we promote safe boating. It is always important to maintain the integrity of safety in all our activities. You will see at least one safe boating seminar this year from our Safety Director, John Ganster.

Finally, the thing we are most proud of is the commitment to charity. Each year we raise money through a Charity Regatta, Poker Run and Auction. The proceeds are given to the Shriner's Children's Hospital. Over the last five years, we have raised in excess of $100,000 for this worthy cause. As you may or may not know, this is where anyone can take a sick, injured or burned child and receive free medical care regardless of their ability to pay. The services are free and no insurance is either requested or accepted.

As you can see, you are a member of a multifaceted organization with lofty goals and high standards of excellence. We are proud to have you as a member hope to see you involved on the lake or at one of our upcoming events. Please find the enclosed scheduled events for the coming months.
